Chesterfield County Crime Statistics
The Richmond Times Dispatch reported (here) on July 2, 2007 that the area was on track for its lowest crime rates in 25 years. This seems to follow on the heels of a number of shake-ups in the Richmond Police Department, and various organizational changes made under Mayor Wilder. Times Dispatch reporter Jim Nolan wrote:
"Robbery numbers in Chesterfield County have remained stable. The county had 128 incidents reported through June 21 [2007] of this year, the same as it had at that time in 2006.
...Chesterfield, which had six homicides in 2006 and one homicide in the first six months of that year, has had three homicides this year."
